Herrmans Bike Components in Pedersöre, Jakobstad, with an exciting 60+ year history and with great opportunities ahead, is now looking for more team-members to come and support us on our path of sustainable growth and continuous development. At the moment we are looking for a Mechanical Development Engineer, an Automation Development Engineer and a Quality Development Specialist.

Mechanical Development Engineer

Your responsibilities would be:
• Responsibility for 3D CAD mechanical design of innovative bicycle components based on relevant requirements, specifications & customer demands.
• Perform simulations to verify product & production functionality with modern simulation tools (Moldflow, Mechanica, FloEFD…)
• Test, document & demonstrate mechanical functionality with in-house Lab facilities, test equipment’s & prototypes (3D-printer, X-ray, Vibration Lab, Lab injection moulder…)
• Evaluate & implement improvements to products in current product range (Lights, Grips, Chainguards…)
• Collaborate with other key-players within the bike industry to ensure product compatibility, especially within the e-bike segment (Shimano, Bosch, Yamaha…)

What we expect from you:
• Master/ Bachelor degree within Engineering.
• To succeed in this role it’s important that you have previous working experience within design of plastic parts and/or plastic injection moulds, or equivalent experiences.
• Fluent English skills, both spoken and written. Other language skills are a benefit
• As a person you are systematic, have good attention to details and a strong will for continuous improvements.
• You are a Team player and like to work in a team!
• Systematic approach and analytical skills
• Creative thinking

Previous experience from Product Development, 3D CAD software Creo (Pro/E) and a true interest for Biking are seen as advantages.

Automation Development Engineer

Your responsibilities would be:
• Modernization of our current production facility, injection molding, and assembly
• Member and key player in development of existing and new products and automated solutions

What we expect from you:
• Experience from automation projects
• Relevant education, B. Sc. or M. Sc. in Engineering or Production
• 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong teamwork skills as well as ability to work independently.
• Reports to Technical manager
• Mechanical design of the system (layout/assembly), use of subcontractors
• HMI experience and PLC knowledge is seen as advantages
• Fluent written and spoken English skills.
• Capable of learning new things quickly
• Proactive
• Problem-solving centered

Quality Development Specialist

Your responsibilities would be:
• Develop processes in accordance with quality management and environmental management systems
• Planning and conducting internal audits
• Conduct root cause analysis and prepare reports for warranty claims
• Ensure raw materials compliance with the European Chemical Legislation (REACH) and products compliance with Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive (RoHS)
• Support supplier quality development
• Lead and participate in improvements projects
• Develop and conduct training of company personnel in quality matters

What we expect from you:
• Master/ Bachelor degree in relevant subject
• Systematic way of working, critical thinking and attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal skills as well as communication skills
• Ability to effectively work with people in a team environment and at various levels of the organization
